Position: Midday Supervisor
Location: Seedlings Nursery, St Peter and St Paul Catholic Primary Academy, St Paul’s Wood Hill, Orpington, BR5 2SR
Hours: 11:30 AM – 1:30 PM, [Tuesday to Friday] 38 week per annum [with a potential to increase hours]
Contract: Fixed Term - Required from 7th January 2025 – 18th July 2025
Salary: Grade 3, Spine Point 2 £27, 345 (pro rata)

We are looking for a reliable and enthusiastic Midday Supervisor to join our team and ensure our children have a positive and enjoyable lunchtime experience.
Role Overview:
The Midday Supervisor will support children during the lunch period, ensuring their safety and well-being, and helping to promote good behaviour and positive social interactions. The role involves supervising children during lunchtime, both in the dining area and in their learning environment. The Midday Supervisor will also assist with basic meal assistance, ensuring that children eat their meals and enjoy a smooth transition from lunch to afternoon activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise children during lunchtime and play to ensure their safety.
- Support children with eating and assist where necessary.
- Encourage positive social interactions and assist children with good table manners.
- Help children transition from mealtime to afternoon activities in an organised and calm manner.
- Promote a positive and inclusive environment where every child feels safe and respected.
- Address any issues of behaviour promptly and in a positive, constructive manner.
- Support staff with any additional tasks as required, including setting up or tidying up the dining area or learning environment.
What We Are Looking For:
- Experience working with young children (preferably in a nursery, school, or care setting).
- A warm, friendly, and approachable demeanour with a passion for working with children.
- The ability to stay calm, manage multiple children, and deal with challenging situations effectively.
- Excellent communication skills, both with children and colleagues.
- A positive attitude and willingness to support children’s learning and development.
- A good understanding of health and safety practices and child protection.
Desirable:
- First Aid or other relevant qualifications (training can be provided).
- Experience in a nursery or educational setting is an advantage but not essential.
